The schedule said one clinician, the map said another

Kavira Health's clinicians travel to their patients. Visits were scheduled from the EMR calendar, and assignments were based on each clinician's home address.

But during the day, clinicians aren't at home. One might be finishing a visit close to the next patient while the schedule sends a colleague from much further away. Without seeing where people were, dispatchers couldn't catch that. The result was longer drives, more miles and patients waiting longer for a visit.

Now dispatchers see every clinician on the live map. When a visit comes up, they send whoever is closest at that moment, including someone already on the road between patients. Routes are planned around where people actually are.
