Health promoters in the community
Summit Institute for Development is a nonprofit that works to improve the health of mothers and children in Indonesian communities. Its community health promoters visit families and community events, and families need their follow-up visits on time.
Planned by hand
Coordinating a large network of promoters was mostly manual. Planning was ad hoc, routes were inefficient, and supervisors had little view of where promoters were or how visits were going. Promoters spent too much of their day traveling.
The nearest promoter goes
Now families due for a follow-up are assigned to the nearest available promoter, and each promoter's day is planned as an efficient route. Supervisors see visits as they happen and can step in when something comes up. For a nonprofit, it also had to stay affordable, and it does.
